“An individual understands a concept, skill, theory, or domain of knowledge to the extent that he or she can apply it appropriately in a new situation” - Howard Gardner
First first thing’s first, what is intelligence?
The way your brain functions is determined by programming, as I’ve stated many times before
Your intelligence or intellect, is defined by your exposure to different factors
If you start out as a videogame addict sitting in your room all day, then 10 years later you’re the board executive for a 6 figure company..
Then your intellect will have changed, and possibly weakened in some places
To be clear, there is no such thing as superior intelligence, unless that intelligence was achieved by covering all areas of what can be defined as intelligence
If you are proficient in multiple languages, playing guitar on a competitive level, you can sing, and you are an extrovert who goes to social events on a regular basis..
You can be defined as highly intelligent
But the person sitting in their room, chatting with their friends in discord, and playing competitive videogames all day, can also be defined as intelligent
So the question remains, how do you achieve “superior intelligence”, and why would you want to?
Is it not easier to just go about your daily life not worrying about things like that?
Not exactly..
No matter what you do, you will always be increasing your intelligence, and losing it in other areas
Every time I don’t practice singing, my ability to process sounds through my vocal cords gets worse, until I might eventually not be able to sing as beautifully as I can now
Its not that my vocal cords are incapable of producing the right sound, its that my intelligence in the musical area has stagnated or gone backward, and as a result my cognitive/brain functioning has gotten less effective
So why increase your intelligence?
Because an increase in intellect, directly results in an increase in opportunity
Think about it..
Again using the videogame player who sits in his room all day, what do you think would happen were that videogame player to meet a nice girl online?
Unlikely, but not impossible
Suddenly the guy who plays video games all day gains an interest in the real world
He’s aware that most woman like a man who’s organized, so he starts making his bed every morning
He keeps talking to her, and she hammers on how she has a dislike for an unorganized room
The guy or man envisions her entering his room, seeing the mess, and being turned off or losing interest in him
All of a sudden he starts paying close attention to the food laying around, his dirty clothes, and he dedicates at least 3 times a week to organizing his room, as well as paying close attention to its hygiene
He then finally meets the girl, she does see his room and she remains interested in him, then eventually they start dating
He keeps playing videogames, but they now have close friends, and he spends time with them as much as his girlfriend
As time progresses his ability to socialize with others increases, and he’s more prone to hanging out with old friends from his high school as well
Him and a few of his male friends from high school start playing games together, having barbecues, bringing their girlfriends, and spending quality time together
Suddenly he’s not spending 8 hours a day playing videogames, but combined 3.5 hours of videogames with social activities
He develops the ability to be witty or funny mid conversation, and he connects with old friends
Him and the girl take the next step in their relationship, and they get engaged
That engagement then later turns into marriage, and that marriage into parenthood
Parenthood means he has less time for his games, but he also builds important emotional bonds with his 2 children, who then share his passion for gaming as he gets older
What you just read wasn’t a coincidence, it was an increase in intelligence
Every time he dedicates time to social activities instead of only gaming, he’s becoming less of an introvert and more social
Every time he reconnects with old friends he becomes more sociable and interested in other people’s lives
When he cleaned up his room for the girl he was increasing his organizational intelligence in order to create a longer partnership opportunity with the girl
Your progress, is directly connected to what you expose yourself to
Without his desire for companionship, he would never have approached the girl, or be anywhere close to where he is now
So in short, to create opportunities, he altered and improved parts of his intelligence, with the girl being the catalyst for this change
Notice how by increasing his intelligence, he became a much better functioning human being, with much better relationship management skills, a life partner who adores him, and the only intelligence he sacrificed was his ability to process gaming mechanics and behavioral psychology
This is why you need to increase your intelligence
Because if controlled correctly, you can drastically increase the outcome of your life, for the better
That means business, relationships, knowledge, conversational skills, income opportunities, and basically every other opportunity imaginable
You’re going to be doing it anyway, so why not learn how to do it better and faster than other people, so in 5 years from now your entire life has changed?
That is the path to excellence, now here’s how you get there
Understanding The Psychology Behind Intelligence
There’s a false perception that mathematical and language based intelligence determines your intellect or IQ
True, for a large portion of the world the person with a Doctorate in Harvard medicine is some kind of genius, but that can’t be further from the truth
A good example is the conversation I had with my mom a while back, where every time we’d talk about someone with some big shot degree they got from a university, then my mom’s immediate thought process is, “I can’t believe they are doing or saying this objectively wrong thing, when they are SO SMART”
That’s an error in judgement
A false perception created by society
Your intelligence is not determined by these markers, but instead its determined by what you get out of life
If you are able to change reality to suit your desires through minimal effort, you are objectively more intelligent than your peers
As much as you could argue against this, the people with the most influence and resources in the world, all prove it
True, they might not be balanced in all areas of their life, but this one thing they have solved, solves 99% of their other problems as well
Let’s look at Elon Musk for a second
Apparently he recently paid someone to impersonate him in Path of Exile so he could claim he’s one of the top players in the world. One could argue this is the opposite of intellectual prowess
What could he gain from doing this? Sure, if he was an ordinary man I would agree
But he’s the richest man in the world
If he so desired, none of his offspring or family would ever need to work another day in their lives
And by eliminating that problem, 99% of all other problems are eliminated
As Dan Koe says, you need 4 habits
1 to build your mind
1 to build your body
1 to build your bank account
and 1 to build your relationships
2/4 of those Elon has covered, and the body + relationships part is only lagging behind because of his obsession with work - Most likely caused by a chemical imbalance and autism, and not 100% within his control
If Elon could put aside his success and work ethic for 6 months, he could fix the other 2 problems quite easily, because he has all the resources in the world to do so
Unfortunately being autistic means you struggle with social awareness, but if Elon wasn’t Elon, he would not have the power he has right now
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, he’d be one of the miniscule amount of people on Earth, who have gotten the closest to achieving enlightenment
The state of being where you have solved every single problem you can experience as a human being
Which brings us to the question.. Is Elon intelligent?
Objectively speaking, he has the power to do almost anything, including fund the serum for immortality
That is true intellect
But many onlookers would say, “O but he has all these problems, he’s not as smart as you think he is”
We’re talking about a man who’s such a visionary, that a large portion of the population thinks he’s crazy, and the other part thinks he’s the closest we have to a messiah without calling him a deity
His ambitions are nothing like any other human being that exists, and the funny part is this:
He has the resources to make them happen, if you give him enough time
He’s one of the most powerful beings in the world, and he’s using his power for the benefit of mankind
Other billionaires run multi-billion dollar companies, sure, but they are just serving everyday problems
Elon is taking civilians to space, and fully intends to populate Mars
Objectively speaking, he’s reached the pinnacle of human existence, or as close as we could ever get to it
That is intelligence
Much more than a Harvard degree in medicine, or even a Rocket Scientist
Those 2 might be able to solve incredibly complex problems, but Elon can just pay someone to do it for him
He can shape most of his reality according to his desires
Which brings us to the different types of intelligence, as coined by Howard Gardner
I agree with Howard’s theory that there exists different types of intelligence, because brilliant artists, brilliant teachers, brilliant entrepreneurs, brilliant politicians, and brilliant street cleaners exist
True, not all professions pay the same amount, but if you are good at your profession, you are highly intelligent
According to Howard there exists an intelligence for those who are musically talented, those who are perceptive and knowledgeable about nature, good at bodily movement like dance, are good at self reflection and contemplation, are good at building relationships with others, and those who are good at manipulating space like a sculptor would
Then we have linguistic intelligence and logical mathematical intelligence (the two that usually define your IQ)
Objectively speaking, to gain mastery over all intelligences, would be how you gain the ability to change reality according to your will
Mastery over interpersonal intelligence will allow you to build relationships of exceptional quality, build a network of highly resourceful individuals, gain a deep understanding of behavioral psychology, and most importantly, learn how to sell any product imaginable
I could break down all of them and why you need them, but let’s be realistic for a second.. You’re not going to turning into a master of all trades after reading this article, no
You need a method to make this work, without learning 10 new hobbies and behaviors
So instead of doing that, we’re breaking down everything you need to focus on for the next 6 months, to drastically increase your intelligence, while also gaining the ability to shape reality to your will (as much as is humanly possible)
Task 1 - Sell a product daily
Instead of learning interpersonal intelligence, you need to learn sales
Find a product, or create a product, and sell it every single day
There is no substitute for practical experience
You will learn more about human psychology from experimentation, than reading a book or doing a course on it
You can use books and courses too, but you need a daily task that increases your knowledge base, expertise, and intelligence every day, and the best way to do this is sales
Not only will you make a lot of money, you will learn how people think, why they do what they do, how to sway people in your favor, and gain opportunities left and right
Task 2 - Follow an exercise routine
Instead of bodily kinesthetic intelligence, we’re focusing on exercise (a requirement for any human being)
By regularly focusing on your cardiovascular health, you will learn how the body works and functions
This means gaining a deeper understanding of biology, muscle development, and cardiovascular stimulation, and as a result your intelligence will increase over time
Task 3 - Dedicate your day to learning an additional language, using those 3 surface level components
Instead of learning linguistic intelligence, you will learn an additional language on a daily basis
Focus on one that is not hard to pick up, get good at it, jump on omegle like sites to talk to people who speak that language.
In a future article I will be breaking down all the psychology behind language learning, and how according to science and case studies from actual experts (not the people you see on Google), you can become a polygot within a very small amount of time compared to what apps like duolingo will tell you
Learning another language requires 3 components on surface level
Access to the vocabulary
Access to people speaking the language, ideally being surrounded by them speaking it regularly
And repetition of speaking it yourself
This will allow you to function in different cultural societies, where most others cannot, it will also make you more appealing to prospects (especially if you’re a man), because woman value intelligence in their partners, and knowing more than 2 languages automatically makes you more attractive as a result
This will increase your intellect because you’re improving your ability to process grammar, cultural meanings, and reading between the lines, as well as gaining an ability the majority of the population does not possess
Task 4 - Dedicate 45 minutes to self study on a daily basis, in your chosen field
To increase your overall intelligence, you need to pursue life long learning
This is based on the the understanding that education is not linear, nor does it mean you need to depend on normalized institutions who offer education as a service
A true life long learner, reads books, reads articles, does scientific studies, runs experiments, proves hypotheses, and in simplified terms, understands that learning is achieved through conscious effort using the internet, and literature, rather than spending a fortune on a degree trying to get a certificate from an out of touch executive, that claims you are who you say you are
Its 2025, and 99% of information “professionals” are using to offer you services, is already available on the internet
This means you need to actively be consuming knowledge to solve problems on your own
When I saw a drop in dopamine I started ruling out external factors that may be playing a role
When I saw a decrease in libido I started determining what could be causing it
When I developed fetishes I eliminated them through scientific experimentation and changing my brain structure on purpose
All of these things society will tell you you need a “professional” to solve, but you don’t
True, they make it easier, but the information is out there, and if you’re willing to put in the hard work, you can teach yourself how to solve the problems institutions and organizations will charge you obscene amounts of money for
To understand this, and to pursue a path of learning using alternative educational sources + methods, is what it means to be a life long learner
Look at this publication for a second..
Every single thing I teach here is based on years of scientific study, self studied literature, scientific experiments and their data, as well as data proven statistics I either discovered myself, or learned from others (who did not need a degree to learn how to solve the initial problem)
Find solace in the fact that if I’m teaching you it inside this newsletter, its been researched, its been proven to work for most of the population, and its going to solve your actual problems
Let me just make something clear here: Most articles you find online won’t solve problems to this extent, no..
They’ll give you a taste of the solution, desperately trying to funnel you into their subscriber base, or sell their products to you (which is just carbon copies of what you can find in other newsletters)
I don’t say this out of malice or ill intent, I’m just saying that I don’t write stuff that’s as easily consumable, because the stuff that solve actual problems, are not
True, nobody wants to study stuff in a curriculum that fulfills no function, but what I write I write to shift your perspective, so you can understand why what I’m teaching will work
I could easily start a generic newsletter telling you how to solve xyz problem, that everyone else is talking about, sure..
But where’s the authenticity in that?
In my mind I have a wellspring of knowledge worth 6-7 figures, so naturally I’m not going to just scrape the bottom of the barrel and tell you how to solve tiny problems
But I’m also not naive. I still sell things that can solve your entrepreneurial problems
The problems I go in depth on, are still considered Smurf content
Content that implies I know my sh#t, and that you should probably buy it from me, if it can solve your problem
Here’s what’s most likely going to happen in the next 5 years
You’re going to find a writer who uses an interesting content creation angle, then you’re going to keep consuming their writing, then you’re going to form a one sided connection with this individual and their way of doing things (philosophy), then when they sell something, you’re going to buy it from them, instead of someone else offering the same exact solution, because at this point they have nurtured you into becoming a loyal customer
This is sales psychology in working, and it works well..
But I have gone in a different direction
My content still does this to you, but only if you finish reading my articles, otherwise all you have is tidbits of information
The reason I have done this, is because while shorter form converts better in the short term, over the long term long form builds much more powerful connection
Not only that, it also allows me to teach you in depth solutions that solve actual problems that will change your life, instead of random sh#t you can find on Medium
Try finding an article of this depth on medium, chances are you won’t
I can name the people who write this level of depth on my 1 hand, and that’s it
And that’s why my publication will teach you more than any other publication will in the long term, if you take it seriously
So consume my articles, because its the ideal place to practice self learning, and being a life long learner
Language, Maths, History, Mythology, Gaming Trivia, whatever
Doesn’t matter
To increase your intellect, you need a field of mastery
I’ve obsessed over psychology since I was 6 years old, because the human mind fascinated me, and the way people behaved fascinated me, so I wanted to know why they do what they do
This interest resulted in years of self study, scoring 80-95% on most of my psychology based exams during university, and me exploring the different fields of psychology
Now, 20 years later, I know more about psychology than the average person with a degree in psychology
Let’s make something clear: This is the result of self study, not some sh#tty degree an out of touch institution offered me
I picked up books, and read them
Then I looked at real life people, made observations, and confirmed what I studied in real life
You don’t need a degree for that, you just need to be a life long learner
Psychology was my field of mastery, as well as other fields are
Your job is to choose a field of mastery, ideally something you’re passionate about, and go from there
Then later you can increase the amount of fields you have
Here’s why persuasion plays an especially large role in your intelligence..
To sell a product you need to actively participate in the marketing of a product.
You need to learn how the human mind responds, you’ll learn tidbits of behavioral psychology, you’ll learn how people react when met with a solution to their problem, and most importantly, you will learn how to ensure a product is in demand, and will actually sell
What does this mean for your personal development?
In short, you will learn persuasion, all psychological processes that are connected to it, and you will see it in practice, instead of sitting infront of a book all day without any hands on experience
Why does this increase your intelligence?
Because the majority of human beings have no reference framework for persuasion
They have one, but it has no name, and its based on conditioning they’ve self induced
These methods, by their very nature, are not very effective (but its how most human beings function)
If you and your partner are fighting all the time, you will initially try to fix it using what you know (your normal reference framework), but where do you go if it doesn’t work?
Couple’s counseling
This isn’t a coincidence
In reality the couple’s counselor has a development framework for persuasion and communication that you most likely don’t even know exists (because she studied it)
There’s a difference between figuring things out, and depending on someone who’s’ made it their profession
One is mediocre at it, the other has made it their mission
Like how when men or woman struggle finding a partner they go to a matchmaker or dating coach
Again, its exactly the same
So by selling a product, you develop a framework to achieve the outcome of selling the product, on a level the mom recommending a fruit basket to her friend isn’t even aware of
She isn’t aware she could be selling thousands of fruit baskets with the right framework, or she has no interest in doing that
As a result, persuasion becomes one of your domains of mastery
So naturally to increase your intelligence, you increase your domains of mastery
Persuasion
Exercise Biology
Language
Self Education (Choose your extra domain/s of mastery)
Why is this a better idea than what you’ve been doing thus far?
Because most people are not actively increasing their intelligence
That’s either because they don’t prioritize it, they don’t care about it, or they don’t see the purpose behind it
And that’s exactly what the problem is
Without the right level of intellect, you won’t ever be a leader, and if you’re reading this I assume you’re aiming to be
You want people to take your brand seriously, you want people to take your writing seriously, you want people to take your course seriously, if you write a book you want people to take you seriously, you want to be invited to masterminds, you want to host seminars and workshops
These are all defined as progress when it comes to being a creator and thought leader
You want to start writing or speaking, and you want the entire audience to pay attention, because your words are synonymous with someone who knows what they’re talking about, and they need to LOVE listening to you
The way you do that, is by becoming the smartest person in the room
You don’t want someone to read something you wrote, or listen to something you say in a real life event, and have them think, “O that was obvious”
There’s 3 ways you do that..
Vocabulary, Charisma, and Knowledge
Stick to the domains of mastery I discussed, and you become the most interesting, resourceful, outspoken, and intelligent person in the room (according to those around you)
Have one conversion with me in English, and most people think I’m a smart person
Why?
Because I’m fluent in English, I have a complex vocabulary, and I have many domains of mastery, as well as sub domains of mastery
This means no matter what you ask me, I am proficient at having highly intellectual conversation
I’m a very good listener (it’s why I’ve never struggled to date)
Put me on Joe Rogan and ask me to talk about Creator Economics, and I can WoW a large portion of viewers
Obviously I’m not going there any time soon, but its the fact that I don’t have to worry about being perceived as an authority, because I just naturally give off that aura
I don’t have to prepare when I get on a sales call, because I possess all these qualities
I just show up, talk about my domains of mastery, and I’m automatically seen as someone of authority on the subject material
To conclude, anyone who uses the term IQ, is using outdated information
I’ve seen incredibly stupid people with master’s degrees
And yes, that also means going to Harvard does not mean you are intelligent whatsoever
I hope that helped
Talk again soon, Ian

Ian, this is one of those rare pieces that goes beyond mindset fluff and actually builds a system around self-evolution. Loved how you framed intelligence as functional—not just academic—and tied it to domains of mastery like language, persuasion, and health.
Your four-task method reminds me of something I touched on in “The Power of Consistency in PR”—how daily repetition in key areas creates an unfair advantage, not just in business, but in how you’re perceived and trusted. This whole piece reads like a manual for becoming the type of person others instinctively follow.
Subbed—and already thinking about which domain I need to sharpen next.
