Focus On These 4 Tasks, And x3 Your Monthly Revenue (With 3x Less Work)
Ignore all other tasks, make more money
Question for you..
If you could sit in front of your computer and focus on 4 things
Then make 3x as much money you were making before, by the end of 12-18 months..
What would those 4 things be?
Truth is, most people have no idea
They scroll social media mindlessly, instead of focusing on what’s important
And even if they focus on the right things (most of the time), its easy to struggle with time management
Truth is, you’re most likely focusing on 10+ tasks right now, instead of the 4 that determine the difference between doing “okay”, and doing “Amazing”
Even as I’m writing this, I am aware of the things I need to stop doing, and the things I need to start focusing on
This puts it into perspective
We’re only human, and we make mistakes all the time..
But without the right focus, you won’t progress nearly as fast as you’re supposed to
There have been days where I look back at the day, and I feel like I wasted a crap ton of time (this cannot happen)
Speed and efficiency is everything in business
You can spend months getting to where you want, instead of weeks
In my 3 years of entrepreneurship I’ve come to realize there’s only 4 tasks you need to do on a daily basis to make more money (and a lot more money)
And these 4 tasks are not going to be some random BS I pulled off a medium article, written by a mid 20s adult with no life experience or understanding about the field of creator economics
These are actual tasks that I have seen insane results from
If you are only able to do these 4 tasks, every single day, you can triple your monthly revenue, with very little daily time commitment (but only if you stick to them)
Since we’re talking about time, let’s go over the 4 types of attention according to science
Selective Attention - This is where you focus on one particular stimulus while ignoring others. It's like tuning into one conversation in a noisy room.
Selective Attention is the type of attention you need to be focused on, but with the amount of tasks you’re most likely occupied with, you can’t do that
Divided Attention - Here, you're trying to attend to more than one task or stimulus at the same time. It involves multitasking, where attention is split between different tasks.
This most likely what you are currently focusing on, but you keep getting distracted by stimulating sources like media, activities, obsessions, destructive habits etc.
Trust me, there are few people who are focusing on the level they should be focusing
Sustained Attention - Also known as vigilance, this involves maintaining attention on a single task or stimulus over
When it comes to this type of attention, its often what you’re supposed to be doing, while combining it with Divided Attention (but you most likely aren’t)
Every time you indulge in an activity that does not focus on the 4 tasks, there’s a failure in your cognitive performance
Like staring at a Tik Tok video, and scroll to watch more of them
There’s nothing useful when it comes to this activity, its just the equivalent of shutting your brain off and indulging in pointless stimulation
Executive Attention
This stage involves managing and controlling your attention, particularly in situations where you need to resolve conflicts, make decisions, or switch focus between tasks. It's about directing your attention in line with your goals or plans.
Building agencies, building audiences, marketing services, networking etc.
All of these require a hybrid form of attention type
If I’m managing a CRM with leads in it, I am using Sustained Attention
If I switch over to WhatsApp to maintain my real life relationships, I’m using Divided Attention
If I’m managing multiple tasks at once (especially with business), I’m using Executive Attention
So for practical purposes I’m creating a new hybrid type of attention (I suggest you adopt this because its designed specifically for writers, creators, marketers, and digital marketers)
Catalyst Adaptive Attention
This type of attention keeps into account what it requires to build a digital business from your computer, sitting for 4-6 hours working on important projects, occasionally switching between tasks as they become relevant
Someone with this type of attention..
Switches attention types repeatedly in a matter of seconds
Is able to focus on multiple tasks while exercising Sustained Attention
Switches focus between tasks, while juggling multiple high leverage actions
Uses analytical thinking skills while they’re switching between tasks
Prioritizes speed and efficiency over self destructive actions
If you’re reading this right now, you’re most likely not exercising this type of attention properly (It takes practice)
If you are capable of never getting distracted, never scrolling videos that fulfill no actual function, and you always get every task done within the timeframe you set out for yourself.. Then you have mastered this ability
From my personal experience I can tell you this: If you change the tasks, this type of attention resets itself
Almost like going back to a checkpoint in a videogame
The thing you previously achieved needs to be remastered
If you’ve been working in the corporate world for years, you will most likely have this figured out more than others, or its also possible the work environment taught you completely wrong behaviors you need to unlearn
It depends on the person and their situation
Remember, the more tasks you give yourself, the easier it is to get distracted
As I’ve said countless times before, and I am saying again:
Control your programming, and you control your perception
Perceptions shape your understanding
Understanding turns into awareness of required skills
Required skills turn into expertise and knowledge
And that turns into your education and ability
If you do not adopt this type of attention (and quickly), you will struggle to achieve these types of tasks on a daily basis
Practice, practice, practice
Now we’re getting into the meat and bones of these high leverage tasks
Task 1 - Writing
Everything, and I mean everything is connected to what you are writing and publishing on the internet
As you’re reading this article right now, I am engraining a perspective in your mind that “Ian is in control of insights and knowledge I may not yet posses”
That creates a sense of authority, and authority figures are who you depend on to solve problems
Problems I can charge you money for
No, this does not mean I’m some kind of sketchy telemarketer
It means I understanding basic human psychology
You want something, I can give you that thing, so I ask you for compensation, and in exchange I give you the thing you want
There is nothing wrong with this practice
Imagine going to the grocery store, picking up an apple, and getting pissed off because the cashier wants you to pay for it
Everything you gain has a price
If a girl gets a boyfriend its because she listened to his passions, spent time with him, built a genuine connection, then he asked her out
That took time and effort
That is the payment
Everything in life has a price, it might just not be money
Some things are more precious than others
If you have this mindset that selling is a sin, or there’s something wrong with it, then this practice won’t work
You need to write content every single day. If you don’t, there will be no lead flow
You cannot make sales or get paid clients without creating a presence through content
What you need to do is the following:
Determine all the platforms you are going to post on
Post on 1 platform and repurpose to the others
Use a consistent content strategy using courses and articles
Promote your newsletter, products, and services under content
Stay consistent with it
But only creating content isn’t going to cut it. You need to convert traffic into leads, and leads into clients or customers
This article assumes you already have 4 offers
One free lead magnet, 1 low ticket product or subscription from $9-$29, 1 mid ticket workshop or course at $80-$150, and 1 high ticket offer or service at $600-$5000
If you’ve got those, here’s what you do next
Task 2 - CRM Management and Lead Conversion
"Lead generation is about finding the right people at the right time with the right message."
Russell Brunson
Listen to me very closely..
Every single person who engages with your posts..
Likes, follows, subscribes, comments
Literally every single one, its an invitation
Always, and I mean ALWAYS, assume you can help them solve their problem
This is one of the highest ROI mindsets you can develop as an online marketer
If they like your post, reach out to them IMMEDIATELY
From the moment they engaged with your content, they are in your DM funnel
From that point onward its your job to find out what their problem is, and if you have the solution to the problem, position yourself as the answer to that frustration
This stuff is based on years of experience and study, its not some random thing I read on a blog article after writing “tricks to selling on social media”, into the google search engine
Some people will get pissed off (this is normal)
Some will be incredibly happy you have the solution to their problem
And some people will reject you, and just be kinda chill
Now everytime they engage with you, determine if you have an offer that solves their problem, and sell it to them
90% of my sales over the last 3 years came from direct messages, so I created a course containing all of my methods
Its not some kinds of script, its about human psychology, so it works in any conversation, on any platform
Want it? Grab it here
Task 3 - Learning & productizing
If you want teach your followers, you need to learn how to solve your own problems
“Write to yourself
Sell to yourself
Productize yourself”
Dan Koe
Every day, you need to dedicate time to study
Only by studying, experimenting, and creating, will you come up with solutions that you can put in courses, articles, posts, threads, and every content type imaginable
I’ve talked about this about 2 times before in my articles, but you need to set aside 30 min to 45 min a day, and use that time to learn from articles, posts, threads, books, and basically everything that can teach you the skills you will require, in order to stay ahead of your followers
If you are always a few steps ahead, your followers will love you for it, and they will endlessly buy things from you no matter what
You can then use these newly developed skills and techniques to create products, teach your followers, and add value to your network so you are seen as a valuable asset
Take that knowledge, build a course, sell the course
Don’t know how to build a course or what to do?
Go grab my free course on it here
(you can upgrade to a way more advanced one later if you want)
Task 4 - Fulfilment
If you’re working with clients, you need to check in with them on a regular basis. That can be every day, every 2 days, every week etc.
Its all about your method of dealing with clients, and how often they want you to check in with them
Why is fulfilment important?
Because the best way to make money isn’t by finding more clients, its by keeping current ones
And the best way to keep current ones, is by getting them on retainer by upselling them something better or similar to what you’ve already helped them with
You can only effectively get someone on retainer, by nurturing your relationship with them over the long term
Overdeliver at every chance you get, make them feel absolutely amazing, and they will love working with you
If they love working with you they turn into the ideal clients
Ideal clients stay with you for as long as they remain ideal clients
And those are the retainer clients you are looking for
Recently JK Molina closed his coaching program that’s making him $100,000/mo
Why does he not need anymore clients? Retainers
It works.
Do this correctly, and you can make a living working with a select few people, instead of chasing clients every month
If you stick to these for the next 12-18 months, you will make a lot of money, and you will see drastic growth
But I’m not going to promise your wonders. If you read this, and halfass it, its not going to work
You gotta do the work, only then will you see the results you’re looking for
And obviously, if you lack the skills to build products, work with clients, and write good content, you’re not going anywhere
Learn those first, read this article, start executing
